Designers That Took The World By Storm In 2023
When it comes to fashion, there are some designers that always make headlines during
fashion weeks, from Gucci to Stella McCartney.
Not only do they set the trends on the catwalk, but the world’s biggest celebrities will be
seen wearing their outfits as soon as they hit the runway, so you can be sure their styles
will become popular.
However, the great thing about fashion is there’s always room for new, fresh designers
to blossom.

Let’s take a look at who made waves on the catwalk this year.
- Sinead O’Dwyer

Fashion has become far more inclusive over the last few years, using models of all
shapes and sizes to show off the latest designs. And one creator who is spearheading the
movement is Sinead O’Dwyer, according to Elle magazine.

The Irish designer launched her label in 2018, but her pieces really took off in the AW23
New York Fashion Week.
Her collection included sculpted bustier tops, bodycon pieces, fishnet dresses, and punky
vests, all of which were designed to celebrate the female form and allow women a form
of self-expression.
- Chen Peng

Paris Fashion Week was also good for showcasing emerging talent, with Chen Peng
already becoming a firm favourite among young celebrities, including Lady Gaga, Bella
Hadid and Rihanna.

The Chinese designer’s AW23 collection has been particularly popular, featuring
oversized silhouettes with huge puffa jackets teamed with opaque tights.
His work borders on cartoonish, but is proving a hit this season.

- Judy Green
Judy Green has grown in popularity in 2023, having been founded by Tatiana
Savritskaya six years ago.
This brand is specifically for women who aren’t afraid of standing out, featuring bold
patterns and colours, and interesting silhouettes.

It creates pieces that allow ladies to have a form of self-expression with what they wear,
boosting their confidence and self-assurance.

- Fforme
The minimalistic look is big news this season, thanks in part to Fforme, which showcased
monochrome styles at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year.

Its creative director Paul Helbers, together with founders Laura Vazquez and Nina
Khosla, showed off black-and-white pieces with an architecturally-inspired edge.
According to Harper’s Bazaar: “Abstract shapes and volume make Fforme’s pieces fall
into the category of quiet luxury and understated beauty.”
- Didu

Another Chinese designer taking the world by storm this year is Didu. She founded her
brand in 2019 shortly after finishing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Didu is, therefore, best known for mixing her Chinese heritage with Western culture in
her clothing line.

Her latest collection, which was called ‘I can’t hide my anger’ debuted on September
27th, and featured tie-dye patterns, shorts with feather trims, and dragon-shaped
jewellery. These are just a few pieces that demonstrate Didu’s eclectic designs.

- Diamond N Dresses
This season is all about Christmas dresses and glitz and glamour, which is why Nelya’s
Diamond N Dresses (DND) is going to become huge over the next few months.

Using feminine materials like French lace and pearls, Neyla manages to create dresses
that look both sexy and sophisticated. Think one-shoulder tailored knee-length gowns, a
French lace midi dress in yellow-black, and a classic little black dress with pearl straps.
Wearing a DND dress is sure to grab everyone’s attention at the office Christmas party
this year.
