Guilin collection combines patented craftsmanship solutions to fix wooden buckles made of used wood offcuts to the belt with a wooden screw.

We use high-quality one-piece cowhide soft leather.

Technical series

The fashionable and uniquely designed NUT series brings innovative solutions to fix the buckle to the belt with the wooden nut, screw, and clamp.

You can assemble your NUT belt by choosing different belt elements – buckle model, belt width, wood type, belt material and colour of the material.

Buckle model

GENTLE is a universal buckle in a unisex shape and 35 mm universal size. It is determined by simplicity and pure form. It was presented at the 2022 New York Fashion Week.

Wood type

Maple wood is strong, looks great, has a light, creamy color, smooth grain pattern, and impressive durability.

Belt material

We use natural vegetable tannins to alter the hide’s protein structure, causing it to become leather. Such leather has many advantages: naturalness, eco-friendly, style, timelessness, strength, flexibility, and durability. Vegetable-tanned leather is considered of higher quality and will last longer than synthetically treated leather. However, it takes at least 28 times longer to make, which is part of why vegetable-tanned leather only makes up roughly 10% of all leather available today.

Material color 

Dark Magenta/Blue/Red. We created a unique combination of modern and fashionable belt material colours, making the belt a stylish and trendy accessory. It fits perfectly also with your denim or more casual clothes.

Wood Belt created its first logo in 2019 as a wooden Wood Belt sign combined with the red NO and green ON.

The red NO symbol in the logo represents the unacceptability of using belts for violence and the unacceptability of any violence.

The green ON symbol in the logo indicates that people with allergies to metal alloys can also use the belt, it can always stay on, and there is no need to remove it.

We also link both colours to Wood Belt’s impact on nature since we support impact activities in national parks. With green colour, we marked programs for sustainable management of forests, and with red programs to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems and halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss.

In 2023 we changed our logo. The new logo represents our growing fashion brand and fits into the fashion industry better. While not directly communicated through the logo, we remain dedicated to all values our first logo represented.

SUSTAINABILITY

• • Our goal is to have 75% of collections and products biodegradable.
• • We make buckles out of wood cutoffs as a circular economy product.
• PETA vegan-approved cork and other certified materials.
• Use of leather as a by-product of the food industry, addressing the problem of waste disposal
• The leather is tanned using natural plant-based tannins. As opposed to synthetic products, tannins come from renewable sources. They are antioxidant, antibiotic and antibacterial. The production process of our tanneries is metal-free, and it always has been, thanks to the raw materials linked to the centuries-old history of vegetable tanning.
• We use water-based adhesives for the leather.
• We protect the wood with certified oils for the food industry.
• We develop products using new, sustainable materials (NUO Textile, plants vegan leather etc.)
• We motivate buyers and the community to sustainable behaviour with our Impact Fashion Style Score and Impact Fashion Pledge.
• In 2022 Wood Belt was selected to participate in the »Small but perfectly formed« project, financed by the European Union, accelerating small and medium fashion enterprises to transition to circular and sustainable models.
